Following in the footsteps of the Golden Globe-winning The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the FX Network series will have a third season, this time about the impeachment of President Bill Clinton after the sexual scandal involving White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who will produce.
Sarah Paulson, who won a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy for her role as prosecutor Marcia Clark in the O.J. Simpson series, will be playing Linda Tripp, the civil servant who secretly recorded Lewinsky and Clinton's phone calls.
Monica Lewinsky was 22 when she engaged in sexual relations with Clinton, 27 years her senior. She was asked by American Crime Story executive producer Ryan Murphy to sign on as a producer for the new season, which will be titled Impeachment: American Crime Story.
Lewinsky told Vanity Fair: " I’m so grateful for the growth we’ve made as a society that allows people like me who have been historically silenced to finally reintroduce my voice to the conversation. This isn’t just a me problem. Powerful people, often men, take advantage of those subordinate to them in myriad ways all the time."
Beanie Feldstein, younger sister of Jonah Hill, has been cast as Lewinsky. The roles of Bill and Hillary Clinton have not yet been cast.
