During press junket interviews to promote Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Oscar Isaac revealed that he wanted his character, Poe Dameron, and John Boyega's character, Finn, to be in a gay relationship.

He suggested the plotline to Disney. In an interview with IGN, he said, "I think there could’ve been a very interesting, forward-thinking - not even forward-thinking, just, like, current-thinking - love story there, something that hadn’t quite been explored yet; particularly the dynamic between these two men in war that could’ve fallen in love with each other."

Fans even dubbed the relationship "StormPilot" and have written fan fiction about them. However, other fans may not have been quite as pleased about an LGBTQ relationship, since there were complaints about the lesbian kiss towards the end of Rise of Skywalker.

However, it's not his suggestion, but what he said next that has some predicting Isaac will never be asked to work with Disney again: "I would try to push it a bit in that direction, but the Disney overlords were not ready to do that."

Isaac is next working on a feature film remake of the movie Dune for another studio. Disney, meanwhile, is producing not only the very popular series Mandalorian, but a slew of other Star Wars projects that will be available on Disney+. In most of the world it is unacceptable for gay males to express semi sexual love in front of minors. Would have to rate Star Wars pg18.

Why do we have to announce to the world who we like and don't like, discrimination, bed partners, etc.,doesn't have anything to do with the story line. Aren't some things just good enough to be left to your imagination.

He should be glad they didn't take his idea on., as to be fully "current thinking" the role of a gay person should only be played by an openly gay actor shouldn't it ?

Yo he wanted a gay interracial love scene?? Yeah that would go over really well. Why do you think Disney would not allow Finn and Rey to get together besides everyone clearing seeing that made more sense than she and the Darth Vader wannabe hookup? Disney knows it audience we are not quite ready for these interracial thingies, much less interracial and gay. God forbid Its 2020 not 3030. Disney knows the pulse of its audience, that is why they are worth billions..

I am so glad to be done with Star Wars and as equally done with Disney ... Disney is killing the Star Wars franchise with it's pumping out one sh*tty rewritten story after the other as fast as they can be made, not to mention I am so very pissed at the Disney corp for sucking every good movie series into it's black-hole-maw and then firing it all behind a paywall, expecting us all to sigh up like babies suckling on a teet - well, F*ck You, Disney - I'll buy the bluerays and and call it a day

disgusting what in the world are people thinking like i want homosexuality in star wars, these days u have to bend to people sexually choices in life and the secular society wants you to except and if u dont then you're a hate monger, what next some person thinking we should be transgenders in star wars too, homosexuality is not part of god purpose or plan is not right in any way shape or form, one example is when i first heard bat-women was coming to prime time i was pump and seeing the trailer i got excited, so when i saw the first show and found out the charter was lesbian and the typical i dont need a man female political agenda, i got turned off and never watch the show ever again, i want my charters free and clear of that garbage as today it really sad when people think we need that repulsive disgusting stuff in movies

What an idiot. Thank goodness Disney has more sense than to listen to a crappy actor. I hope they never hire him again. I donâ€™t want to see him in anything else. Iâ€™ll be skipping Dune, thatâ€™s for sure. Keep your gay agenda to yourself, Isaac.
