Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I am glad I read the book first because I understood what was going on. It was a good movie. I laughed, I cried, and I was entertained. You rarely find a movie that is exactly like the book so if you go in having read the book just keep this in mind. Its worth watching.

usually i would cry at a death scene, especially dumbledores and i actually did when i read the book. but this movie did so horibble that it actualy got me pissed off and made me start laughing. thats how terible this was! like whats with the falling in slow motion. it just makes the old man look retarted. 1 STAR. they ruined my favorite book of all time.

ill give them props for the CGI. but they made the film skip way to fast, and used the least less parts of the book, instead of the good. and DD's death was too short. 1 STAR

not impressed

By far, the best harry potter film out to date. Funniest, yet most serius. Everthying that happened seemed to madder and kept me thouroughly focused the entire fime. Very entertaining.

Parts of this movie were excellent, but I felt...disappointed in the end. It was too choppy and frankly, it didn't flow in some parts. I'm still looking forward to the Hallows and am hopeful for a return to the awesome movies we expect from the Harry Potter franchise.

wow, it was amazing! good affects. I wish they could make the movies longer though. I don't think the Deathly Hallows will be very good because too much happens in it, and they will have to rush it, and cut out a lot.

Excellent. Simply the best Harry Potter movie to date. Do not expect every detail from the book, and don't panic if some elements are modified or changed, it is all in the name of creating the most fluid, watchable and entertaining 2hrs 30 mins at the theaters this summer. Go and see HARRY POTTER!

Honestly, they tried their best. Though it hadn't had a lot of action as I expected it would, it was pretty good. This novel/movie is more focused around putting the puzzles together to defeat Lord Voldemort. It would have been better if they had made the movie five hours long so that the things that were cut out the book would be in it. But How do you expect the director to fit everything in 2 hours? Anyways, they did a really good job on the effects and the cave parts. And putting the main parts in it. It also captures teen romance and heartbreak, which puts a different spin on Harry Potter and to those who could relate to the teenage heartbreak. Also, this is a very funny one

I would just like to say that I find it funny when people on this site say only nerds see Harry Potter movie's and say they didnt enjoy it.How hypocritical is that!? Dont pretend you're too cool for this movie and then admit you saw it lol loser

I`m a Potter fan. This movie was outrageous, so disappointing,Nothing happened..and what did was rushed! The potter movies were getting darked but this one went in another direction, more like a comedy. People I know who saw it agree that its the worst of the lot. Lets hope they reinstate the series in the deathly Hollows.

Great movie lots of drama and emotions!!! The acteurs make you feel like your in the movies with them!!! I loved it so much!!! It should get a five star!!!

the best movie of the year

I'm a huge HP fan but even I have to admit that this movie was a huge disaoppointment. It barely follows the book at all and it has hardly anything to even do with the "half blood prince" I'm scared to see what they're gonna do to the 7th movie(s) now. This was such a major let down :(

I thought it was well-directed and, as a standalone, worked very well. The 6th book is considered one of my favourites, and I thought this movie didn't disappoint. I thought all the additions were cute and helped play up the fact that, yes, these are just kids we're talking about. True, there could've been more Snape, but whatever scenes he did get were amazing. Helena Bonham Carter is also pretty amazing. Even as a hardcore fan, you shouldn't judge this movie too harshly. Instead of comparing word for word in the book and popping in a thousand "but that wasn't in there!"s and "that's not how he said it in the book!"s, just watch and take it for what it is and how it's presented.

a very very very disappointing movie. Too much missing and the ending was anticlimatic. They should have waited another six months and released a better movie. My fingers are crossed for the next two.

What were the producers thinking? Our kids have always been big Potter fans but they were begging to leave after a half-hour. Ughhh! 2.5/10

One of the more disappointing trips to the cinema I've had in sometime. Everyone in the cast with the exception of Helena Bonham Carter looks absolutely bored and even the CGI was bad. It may be time to give the series a rest for awhile.

We waited in line over three hours for this, and wound up leaving twenty minutes into the film. "Disaster" is too kind a word for this slice of movie manure.

We should all know by now that there are always going to be scenes left out when a book is adapted into a movie and not everybody is going to happy about which bits make the final cut and which don't. Harry Potter is no exception and most of the omissions i could have lived with as for the most part the film is very entertaining, that was until the ending. It was just way too rushed and i left the cinema with the same feeling you get when your time is up on a ride at the fair - you're just getting into it when it comes to a sudden halt!

I think some parts were really good, but there were ALOT of parts missing!!! I (L) BELLATRIX!!!

I loved it. I went in quite apprehensive, but I thought that it was done very well. Although there were significant things left out from the book, I thought that the movie was put together very nicely. A very excellent addition to the Harry Potter series :)

If you want to see a movie about stupid teen romance. See this movie. Also they made this movie, for people who haven't read the books, and for little kids. This movie could have been so much darker than it is.

It was an amazing movie. The thing about movies that are BASED on books, is that yes, some details are going to be left out, its a MOVIE, and this one happened to be an amazing one. The put in the most key parts, yes some were left out, but it made the movie better, yes they might have changed a few things, but honestly? the was probably the best movie. I cant wait, for the next one to come out, adn then have a marthaon.
