Total escapism, and a taut storyline

We arrived at the theatre in time to see either "Last Chance Harvey" or "Slumdog Millionaire". Since we heard so many great reviews on this movie, we decided to see this one. I was very disappointed in this movie. It was not what I expected and I didn't leave the theatre feeling very good about it. Also, what's with the music video at the end showing the actors dancing a la "Thriller"? After seeing "Slumdog Millionaire", I wish we had seen "Last Chance Harvey".

On my 2nd viewing I appreciated the brilliant music by A.R.Rahman which fit so perfectly with the scenes. The reality was raw and truthful. That is why it is the best picture! Maybe Hollywood will open their eyes and give us the real goods instead of stupid fantasy, ie Benjamin Button.

Has a good mix of drama and suspense with showing the reality of being a homeless in India. Quite riveting. Highly recommended.

Disappointing. Somewhat ludicrous to crude attempt to mix romance and realism. Dissolves into cheap sentimentality.

They should have used American Idol instead of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Marvelous !!! Simply superb, its amazing that a movie has every single element of entertainment that is very well paced and excellently packaged according to the main plot, just spell-bound !!! Wonderful screenplay and the best of all A.R. Rahman's brilliant music. Thumbs up for the entire cast and crew - straight A+ for the movie.

As Canadian born person who actually lived in Mombai (Bombay), this movie brings back too many true memories. Great story line and great acting. Best movie of the year by far!!! Go see it for yourself. You will be moved.

Awesome movie with good background music.. Great music by A R Rahman.... Worth spending the amount and time for this movie.. In short, Slumdog Millionaire is terrific, exhilarating, inspirational entertainment.
