I think this movie absolutely sucked. I can`t see how it even got to the big screen. It should have gone straight to dvd.

I have never seen anything that is so real and yet so very true. Yes, it will happen but when? This is the answer that noone knows for sure but it will happen! This sure makes you think, and will you be prepared. This is an awesome movie 5 Stars.

I am really surprised that this filmed received such a low ranking. My husband and I found it very good Sure, the facts were stretched and sometimes the father saving son storyline seemed a bit much but I would say, that imagination stretching is what you get with sci-fi films (which are my favorites). If you sit and pick apart a movie and every single fact in it, then this movie is not for you.

I think it is a very good movie. Although some parts are too much but I think basically it is good imagination.

Wow! The movie was fantastic! It deserved the five stars it got from the critics. The movie was realistically done. No theatrics or glam about the brink of the ice age. The special/visual effects were amazing to look at. Definitely a keeper on DVD. Go see it! You will like it!

It was like a 50`s scifi movie - some hokey lines, incredible scenarios and even during the most dire of times there was time for a little romance. It got a little tiresome.

A movie for all those that love greenpeace. Special effects were definitely realistic with the exception of the zoo animals. The acting was not bad either. Of course you have to get over the idea of this occurring within the shortened period of time, but does sure point out the way we are ignorant or uncaring of the planet. Given enough time, this probably would happen, cause the idea of us giving up fossil fuels is far too remote. A summer flick with a message. Can`t remember the last time that happened. Someone buy me a hybrid car.

I felt very cold during and after the movie.

The fact that one major superstorm can change the climatic condition of the earth is ludicurous. However, most sci-fi movies have some elment of truth to them. That element or condition of turth is taken and magnified so that one creates a sci-fi movie. In the case of this film there is no element of truth. No basis for science fact, not a single shread of hard scientific proof. My concern is that some of the more lay-people out there may jump to the conclusion that such events did occur in the history of our earth and they occurred with this major one super storm. When a disaster movie isn`t made for a couple years, someone always feels compelled to make another one. It`s unfortunate that most of them suck and have extremely far-fetched circumstances. TDAT was just another one of these films. I`ll admit that it was a nice touch to show NYC in ruins... i wonder if the producers thought of that beforehand.

Geesh! Do you people ever read what you`ve written? Are you incapable of recognizing when it makes no sense? I can understand if you make spelling mistakes, but at least put your words in some kind of coherent order!

The idea/concept was good, a lot of scenes were amazing, BUT there were a whole lot of flukes. Examples: where did their electricity come from?? how did their furnace work??? how did Dennis Quaid go all the way to NY in three days?? How did their flash lights last that many days without the batteries dying??? where did the blankets and other supplies appear from??? I could go on....

I think it was a good movie! Very enteraining and exciting with suspense...I rate it an 8/10.

Blizzards, tornados and floods--oh, my!...Just a brainless orgy of special effects periodically interrupted by sappy human-interest episodes.

For all this expertly rendered destruction, the characters don`t seem fazed by casualty counts that must number in the billions.

don`t believe the hype. Wait for the rental. This movie is a yaaaaawner all the way with no action at all but what is in the previews. Usually Dennis Quaid is a sure thing, not this time. Don`t waste 2 hours of your life.
